How to Understand Polish

Foreigners say that Polish language sounds like the radio that is untuned :) It is just a joke but the truth is that for those who are not used to listen to our language it can sound like a one long word without certain beginning and end.

What to do in such case? Listen!

Listening is important to learn any language, it does not matter if it is Polish, English or Chinese. Before you enroll for Polish lessons, try to watch Polish TV programmes (for example weathercast), listen to Polish radio. In the times of Internet it became very easy.

Do not be impatient and do not give up. Even if you do not understand a word now, you will see a fast progress after taking a Polish course. The words you heard before, will become clear and understandable and you will realise that their pronunciation will not be so complicated as it could be without previous listening preparation.
